I love Bermuda Bags. Not only do they remind me of my early childhood (1973 was apparently a big year for the bags) but they are just so darn cute.
The holy grail of Bermuda bags is, of course, the one from Lilly Pulitzer (sadly, not in the 2007 collection but available on ebay and from some Lilly retailers).

I picked up a similar one in Gap Kids a few years ago for under $10 - complete with a button on removable, reversible cover in Lillyesque pink and green. I had in in my daughter's dress up trunk but recently I returned it to my closet (perhaps reskimming the used copy of The Preppy Handbook I picked up had an impact). I plan to sew some new covers for it one of these days, or at least pick up some of the gorgeous vintage Lilly ones since they fit.
Recently I picked up J. Crew's** St. Bart's bag with the butterflies. It does not have the removable cover (and it ought to since they offer the bag in pretty silks and eyelets but in my mind, buying more than one set of the handles sort of defeats the purpose of such a bag) but it is just so darned pretty
**Narrator's Note: First mention of J.Crew on this blog -- I've shown great restraint, no?
