All Parked Out
Well, we hit Ramsden Park (good park but needs more shade, a few shopping cart people around but no sketchy dudes in short shorts), Pricefield Park (fabulous for little kids and a good shady sandbox) and the Pottery Park Splash Pad on Merton (fabulous gated splash pad with small playground and sandbox). All were wildly popular . We also hit ever-popular Peanut Club (Bathurst and Lawrence) indoor playground on a Tuesday when they charge $4 per kid. We also returned to the Toronto Botanical Gardens because they are just so lovely.
It is so hot right now in Toronto that even the parks are stifling so we've been hanging around Casa MUBAR and playing in the fishy sprinkler while eating popsicles. It's all very retro.
There are only a handful of days until camp starts and a few of those will be spent at Great Wolf Lodge waterpark (lord help me). I'm back to thinking that the city is a lovely place which is usually my conclusion after spending some time out of the car and in the parks.
We have some great parks in Guelph too. Riverside is wonderful. It is right on the Speed river and has a great play area for kids, plus in the summer there is a merry-go-round and a train for the kids. One of our favourites is The Dragon Fly park. It is located in the South end of the city behind a high school. The first time we went we thought we were in the wrong place. The park is fairly new 3-4 years, but is a great place for little toddlers up to tweens.
And I am always on the look out for questionable individuals wearing short shorts!
